Kinatico is seeking a Principal Architect with deep data architecture experience to serve as the single technical design authority across our entire organisation. This is a whole-of-company role: you will own the architecture across everything Kinatico builds and runs, from our customer-facing SaaS products through to the internal and third-party systems that power our operations. Strong data architecture expertise is essential.

We are an AWS-native engineering organisation, writing in C#, React, and Python. Your credibility comes from your output, not your title. We are looking for the person who built things they are still proud of.

Kinatico CVCheck has been the trusted name in background screening and verification since 2005. Kinatico Compliance is our next-generation platform: a single, secure environment for managing people compliance end-to-end. This role is open to candidates across Australia.

• AI-first, not AI-on-the-side**.** Design architecture for AI-powered features from the ground up: LLM APIs, embedding models, and AI agents.

DELIVERING THE GOOD, STRIVING FOR THE GREAT

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the technical design across Kinatico's full product suite: translate product requirements into concrete, buildable technical specifications including architecture diagrams, API specifications, and data models that serve as the source of truth Engineering builds from.

• Own the platform's data architecture: schema design, data flows, governance models, and data modelling standards that scale with the product roadmap.

• Engage Product during discovery to assess feasibility before commitments land on Engineering or the roadmap.

• Maintain architecture decision records and design documents as living source-of-truth artefacts Engineering can build from without ambiguity.

• Ensure designs are secure by default: ISO 27001, OWASP, and privacy-by-design for a platform handling sensitive workforce data.

• Contribute to engineering standards, run design reviews, and build technical design literacy across Engineering.

What You’ll Bring

• Deep data architecture expertise: data standards, schema design, data modelling, data flows, and governance at platform scale.

• 6+ years engineering with at least 2 years in solution architecture or principal-level design at commercial SaaS scale.

• Strong AWS expertise across cloud-native architecture and microservices. AWS is our platform and depth here is non-negotiable.

• C# and .NET or Python in a commercial product context.

• Practical AI fluency: LLMs, embedding models, and RAG patterns with governance for regulated contexts.

• Secure-by-design instincts: OWASP, ISO 27001, and privacy-by-design are second nature.
