Internship AI Engineer (Autumn 2026)

Do you not only want to use AI models, but also actively contribute to building the technology that makes AI truly usable within software? Then this internship is for you.

Within the Software department of Easi, we are fully engaged in integrating AI into our existing products, such as Adfinity and AIT (Adfinity Interface Tool). AIT is our in-house middleware platform that connects different software packages and plays a central role in our digital architecture.

For the academic year 2026–2027, we are looking for motivated interns who want to contribute to the next generation of our tools. The focus is on developing AI-driven modules such as automatic data validation, data enrichment, and intelligent assistants for our end users.

During your internship, you will work closely with experienced AI engineers and software architects on designing, building, and testing AI components and related tooling within our platform. You will have the opportunity to dive deep into the subject: from prompt engineering and model integration to setting up a secure and scalable AI infrastructure.

This gives you a unique opportunity not only to work with AI, but also to understand how to apply this technology in a robust and future-proof way within a professional software environment.

Responsibilities

You will work closely with Easi’s software and AI team, with a specific focus on the AI layer of our products.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the design and implementation of AI-driven functionalities within our software
• Building, testing, and fine-tuning the middleware layer between our applications and the AI models used
• Experimenting with different models and configurations to improve reliability and quality
• Researching how external data sources and existing systems can be securely connected to an AI model
• Setting up validation and evaluation processes to make AI output quality measurable
• Documenting your work and decisions for the broader team
• Contributing ideas on a scalable and secure AI architecture (local infrastructure vs public cloud)

Our Framework

The AI layer is built around modern Python-based AI tooling, combined with our existing .NET backend (ASP.NET Core 8) and Vue 3 frontend. You will work in an environment where AI components collaborate with traditional web APIs and databases (MySQL). Version control is handled via Git, and deployment via Docker and GitLab CI/CD.

Profile

Must-have:

• You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an AI-related field (e.g., AI Engineer, Applied Computer Science – AI, Data Science, Computer Science with AI specialization, or Industrial Engineering with an AI track)
• Fluent in Dutch (C2 level)
• Strong knowledge of Python
• Basic knowledge of machine learning and how LLMs work
• Interest in AI engineering: not just training models, but especially deploying them correctly in production environments
• Analytical, critical, goal-oriented, and strong communication skills
• A team player mindset
• Experience with Git

Nice-to-have:

• Previous experience building AI prototypes or proof-of-concepts (POCs)
• Affinity with software architecture and API design (REST)
• Basic knowledge of .NET / C# or willingness to learn
• Interest in security and data privacy in an AI context
