How We Hire
Everyone is welcome at M&S. No exceptions. It’s your background, abilities and differences that make you, uniquely you. And when you’re part of M&S, that individuality has the potential to make waves.
About the role
This section tells you all you need to know about the position and its responsibilities, outlining everything we hope to see in a successful candidate.
To stay close to our customers and colleagues, our support teams are in the office for at least three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.
Summary Summary
As an AI Product Manager in the AI Accelerator, you will play a pivotal role in turning the potential of AI into real, scalable value for Marks & Spencer. You will work at the intersection of business, technology and delivery to identify, prioritise and shape AI-enabled products that measurably improve customer and colleague experiences.
Working closely with business teams, AI engineers and data scientists, you will lead discovery, experimentation and delivery, ensuring AI solutions are grounded in real problems, designed for adoption, and embedded into everyday ways of working.
You will focus on taking AI ideas from concept to impact - balancing pace, learning and rigour - and ensuring that AI products launched through the Accelerator deliver meaningful commercial and operational outcomes across M&S. All the details Who you are
- An experienced product manager with a strong track record of shaping and delivering (ideally AI‑enabled) digital products that create measurable commercial and operational impact.
- Comfortable leading discovery and experimentation in ambiguous problem spaces, particularly where AI (including GenAI, agentic AI and automation) is part of the solution.
- A proactive self‑starter who spots high‑value opportunities, drives innovation, and is motivated by delivering outcomes rather than outputs.
- Confident engaging, influencing, and communicating with senior stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into clear business value.
- Passionate about the evolution of AI and emerging technologies, with sound judgement on where AI genuinely adds value and where it does not.
What you will do
- Identify, frame and prioritise high‑impact opportunities where AI can deliver real business value, working closely with leaders across M&S.
- Lead the discovery, experimentation and delivery of AI products, rapidly testing hypotheses and scaling solutions that improve key business outcomes.
- Partner with AI engineers, data scientists, designers and delivery teams to shape AI solutions that are valuable, feasible, usable and ready to scale.
- Own the product lifecycle end to end - from problem definition and prioritisation through to launch, adoption and value realisation — with a strong bias for pace and learning.
- Work closely with adoption and change teams to ensure AI products are embedded into everyday ways of working, delivering sustained impact beyond pilots.
What's in it for you

- Discretionary bonus schemes awarded based on how you achieve your personal objectives and our performance as a business.
- A generous Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and Life Assurance.
- A dedicated welcome to our teams with a tailored induction and a wide range of training programmes to develop your skills.
- Amazing perks and discounts via our M&S Choices portal to maximise your financial and personal wellbeing.
- Industry-leading parental, adoption and neonatal policies, providing support and flexibility for your family.
- Access to a fantastic range of wellbeing support for all colleagues including access to our 24/7 Virtual GP and PAM Assist to support you and your family.
- A charity volunteer day to support a charity or cause you're passionate about through a dedicated day away from work.

Meet the Team
Being an in-person business
We're at our best when we're close to customers, and for many of us at M&S, that means working in store every day.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected. It also means we can solve problems as soon as they arise, learn and grow as a team, build trust, and get closer to our colleagues.

I think all engineers just love solving puzzles and problems. At M&S, we’re constantly learning new things, whether it’s mastering Swift UI or understanding how customers interact with technology. But this is also a business that listens to engineers and values what we bring to the table. That’s different, believe me.

I’ve worked in many organisations throughout my career, and it’s rare to see such cause and effect in your work. The way we’re structured means you’re encouraged to solve problems and you have the autonomy to make progress quickly.
