Job description
Velair Development Company is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join the Applications team, reporting to the Vice President. In this role you will serve as the company’s primary subject-matter expert for artificial intelligence platforms, tools, and workflows. You will lead the evaluation, implementation, and governance of AI systems — from large language models to workflow automation — helping field operations and corporate support teams work smarter. This is a strategic, hands-on role for someone who combines technical AI fluency with strong change management and communication skills.
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Discover, document, and manage business and functional requirements through interviews, workshops, and observation across departments.
- Develop and maintain process documentation including current-state and future-state workflow maps, use cases, and business rules.
- Analyze business data and operational metrics to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for system or process improvement.
- Evaluate, pilot, and implement AI/ML platforms, LLMs, and AI-powered SaaS tools across enterprise and construction workflows.
- Design and optimize prompts, retrieval pipelines, and AI-assisted workflows to drive measurable productivity gains.
- Work with the VP-IT to develop, refine, and maintain AI governance policies
- Identify and build workflow automation opportunities by integrating AI capabilities with existing and future reporting systems.
- Define and monitor KPIs for deployed AI solutions; report on performance, adoption, and business impact to leadership.
- Lead change management and end-user training programs to drive adoption of AI tools across the organization.
- Manage relationships with AI vendors and technology partners; support contract negotiations and license compliance.
- Monitor emerging AI, and real estate, and property management industry trends; provide recommendations on new tools, models, and capabilities.
- Maintain lifecycle documentation including solution architecture, configuration guides, risk registers, and training materials.
This role requires a full-time onsite presence, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-7 years of experience in technical or business analyst role.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in AI/ML in an enterprise environment.
- Hands-on proficiency with prompt engineering and LLM platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Copilot, Claude, Google Gemini), and AI-powered SaaS tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives and drive adoption of new technology across diverse user groups.
- Familiarity with AI governance concepts including data privacy, model risk management, and responsible AI principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with property management platforms such as Yardi Voyager
- Experience with Microsoft enterprise workflow automation tools such as Power Automate.
- Experience with document intelligence, OCR, or computer vision tools applied in enterprise applications.
