Job Description
What you will do:

Leverage AI (Playwright MCP) to accelerate test automation, refactoring, debugging, and defect triage
-
Build scalable, reusable automation frameworks for API (REST/GraphQL) and UI testing
-
Develop and execute automated suites for functional, regression, and integration coverage
-
Improve test stability by identifying and resolving flaky tests through root cause analysis
-
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), enabling quality gates and continuous testing
-
Partner with engineering teams to enhance product testability and streamline quality practices
-
Track and report quality metrics (coverage, stability, defect leakage) using Practitest
-
Manage and scale test execution via Selenium Grid and distributed environments Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
-
10 or more years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic or automating highly complex processes
Preferred Skills/Experience* Hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium)
- Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Playwright MCP) for test automation and debugging
- Strong proficiency in API (REST/GraphQL) and UI/web automation testing
- Solid programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (or comparable languages)
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions / GHCP)
- Strong understanding of automation best practices (parallel execution, maintainability, flaky test mitigation)
- Experience with test execution environments (Selenium Grid, distributed testing)
- Familiarity with test management tools (Practitest or equivalent) and quality metrics reporting
- Exposure to continuous testing practices and quality gate implementation
- Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments with cross-functional engineering teams Key Responsibilities
AI-Driven Automation Acceleration
- Apply AI-assisted techniques to accelerate:
- Test case generation and automation development
- Code refactoring and framework modernization
- Debugging, failure triage, and defect reporting
- Use Playwright MCP and AI tools to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance maintainability.
Automation Framework Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for:
- API testing (REST/GraphQL)
- UI testing (web applications)
- Ensure frameworks are reusable, maintainable, and optimized for parallel execution.
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute automated test suites covering functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and eliminate flaky tests through root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve product testability.
CI/CD Integration
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GHCP / GitHub Actions).
- Implement quality gates and continuous testing practices.
- Optimize pipeline efficiency, reliability, and execution time.
Test Management & Reporting
- Utilize Practitest for test case management, traceability, and reporting.
- Track and analyze key quality metrics such as:
- Automation coverage
- Test stability
- Defect leakage
- Provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Execution Environment Management
- Execute and scale automation using Selenium Grid and distributed environments.
- Manage test environments, dependencies, and test data strategies.
Technical Leadership
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
- Promote adoption of AI-enabled automation practices across teams.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00 U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
