About the role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the Platform team within our Industrial Intelligence product area. You will play a key role in designing, building, and operating a modern, cloud‑native, AI‑ready platform that supports data‑intensive and AI‑enabled services in production.

This is a hands‑on senior engineering role with high autonomy and ownership. You will work closely with product, data, and software engineering teams to ensure the platform is reliable, scalable, secure, and easy to operate over time. The role is intended for engineers who are motivated by long‑term platform evolution and building strong foundations for future AI‑driven capabilities.

Key responsibilities

Platform infrastructure

  • Design, build, and operate cloud‑native infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms

  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)

  • Operate and optimise Kubernetes platforms (AKS) in production

  • Own platform reliability, performance, security, and cost efficiency

  • Share responsibility for platform stability and operational health, contributing to prevention, analysis, and continuous improvement

  • Maintain clear, practical technical documentation and operational runbooks Kubernetes & container platforms

  • Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes, including deployment, scaling, and network configuration

  • Package and deploy workloads using Helm

  • Troubleshoot platform‑level issues related to containers and orchestration

  • Support data‑intensive platform components and stateful services at infrastructure level AI‑ready & data‑intensive workloads

  • Enable AI‑ready platform capabilities for inference‑heavy and data‑intensive services

  • Support GPU‑enabled workloads where required, including scheduling, isolation, and cost awareness

  • Design platform patterns suitable for high‑throughput and low‑latency services

  • Work closely with data and application teams to translate workload needs into robust platform solutions Monitoring, observability & operations

  • Implement and maintain monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Tempo, or similar tools

  • Build and evolve logging and telemetry pipelines to improve operational insight

  • Reduce operational noise and improve system understanding through telemetry‑driven analysis Security & platform guardrails

  • Apply security‑by‑design principles at platform level, including IAM, RBAC, network policies, and workload isolation

  • Provide default platform capabilities for logging, traceability, and controlled access

  • Ensure platform safeguards are pragmatic, scalable, and non‑blocking CI/CD & automation

  • Integrate platform capabilities with CI/CD and GitOps workflows

  • Experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Argo CD, or Flux

  • Promote automation‑first approaches across platform operations

Required experience & skills
  • Strong experience operating cloud‑native platforms in production
  • Solid hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes and Azure
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • Good understanding of platform operations, automation, and observability
  • Ability to write maintainable automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken
Desirable experience
  • Experience supporting AI or ML workloads in production
  • GPU workloads on Kubernetes
  • Exposure to GitOps, service mesh (e.g. Istio), or hybrid infrastructure
  • Background from industrial, enterprise, or regulated environments Work model: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in the office at Fornebu)
