Technical Product Manager - Data AI
Bloomberg · New York, US
Job description
Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by information that is fast, deep, and reliable. We combine data with context to paint a complete picture for our clients, around the clock and across the globe. In the Data department, we are responsible for delivering this information through innovative technology—quickly, accurately, and at scale. We apply problem-solving skills to streamline workflows, implement advanced technology solutions, and enhance the systems, products, and processes that power Bloomberg, all while supporting our clients with best-in-class service.
Our Team: The Data Artificial Intelligence group brings modern AI technologies into Bloomberg’s Data organization while contributing deep financial subject-matter expertise to the development of AI-powered products. We partner closely with partners to align AI innovation with Bloomberg’s strategic objectives, focusing on optimizing data workflows and elevating the quality, intelligence, and usability of the data that drives our products. Our work amplifies the impact of the Data organization by delivering intelligent data solutions and domain-informed systems that enhance Bloomberg’s offerings.
What’s the role? We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to help shape the future of AI-powered workflow automation. This role drives platform-oriented initiatives at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Data Infrastructure, and workflow automation, building scalable capabilities that enable teams across Bloomberg to automate and modernize data workflows using AI. You will lead the development of shared AI platform capabilities across multiple business domains, including classification, extraction, entity resolution, validation, and other workflows that transform unstructured information into structured, high-quality data products. Partnering closely with AI engineers, platform teams, financial domain experts, and senior leadership, you will help define the infrastructure, tooling, standards, and operational frameworks that allow AI-powered workflows to be developed, evaluated, and deployed consistently at scale.
Acting as both strategist and operator, you will bring clarity to sophisticated platform and organizational challenges, define cross-organizational priorities, and drive execution through reusable capabilities and shared standards rather than one-off solutions. In this role, you will help establish AI as a durable platform capability, delivering immediate operational impact while building the scalable foundations needed for long-term adoption and growth.
We'll Trust You To:
- Help define and evolve the vision, roadmap, and operating model for shared AI platform capabilities that support workflow automation
- Partner with AI engineers and infrastructure teams to develop reusable tooling, evaluation frameworks, orchestration capabilities, and operational infrastructure that enable teams to build and deploy AI-powered workflows at scale
- Work closely with domain experts, other platform teams, and operational partners to identify common workflow patterns and translate business needs into scalable platform capabilities and services
- Establish scalable standards, interfaces, governance approaches, and guidelines that promote consistency, interoperability, and responsible adoption of AI-powered workflows across teams
- Drive alignment and execution across Data, Engineering, Technology, and AI teams, balancing platform investments with evolving business priorities and operational needs
- Help define approaches for measuring workflow quality, reliability, and production readiness, ensuring AI-enabled systems meet Bloomberg’s standards for accuracy, consistency, and trust
- Proactively identify technical, operational, and organizational risks across platform capabilities, integrations, and workflow implementations; coordinate mitigation strategies to protect delivery and adoption
- Capture findings, operationalize reusable patterns, and contribute to the broader adoption of shared AI infrastructure, platform services, and workflow automation capabilities You'll Need to Have:
- 8+ years of product management or related experience leading sophisticated technical platform or infrastructure initiatives end-to-end
- A proven track record of partnering with engineers, AI/ML practitioners, and business partners to deliver scalable technology capabilities and measurable outcomes
- Experience driving platform-oriented products or shared infrastructure that support multiple teams, workflows, or business domains
- Solid understanding of how to translate operational or business challenges into scalable platform capabilities, tooling, and workflows
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse technical and non-technical partners around shared priorities and standards
- Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive disciplined execution across multi-functional organizations
- Systems thinking and organizational skills, with experience designing scalable processes, frameworks, or operating models
- Comfort operating in fast-moving environments where priorities, technologies, and organizational needs evolve over time We'd Love to See:
- Familiarity with AI/ML technologies such as large language models, natural language processing, evaluation frameworks, or workflow orchestration systems
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or enterprise workflow automation capabilities
- Experience working with large-scale data systems, operational workflows, or distributed platform environment
- Understanding of AI governance, model evaluation, or production deployment considerations for AI-powered systems
- Success operating in highly matrixed organizations requiring influence across teams without direct authority
- Passion for building reusable capabilities, improving organizational effectiveness, and scaling adoption of emerging technologies responsibly Salary Range = 140,000 - 295,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
