Sensor Fusion & Computer Vision Engineer (Aerospace & Defense):

TXT e-Tech, a company of the TXT Group, is looking for a Perception & Sensor Fusion Engineer to be involved in Aerospace activities for a major client in the sector.

The resource will work on advanced perception solutions, focusing on multimodal sensor fusion algorithms and contributing to the development of robust 3D environment representations using heterogeneous sensor data.

Main responsibilities:
Data preprocessing and sensor conditioning, including temporal alignment, calibration, noise reduction and outlier handling

Development of multimodal sensor fusion algorithms integrating data from EO/IR, LiDAR, Radar, IMU and GPS

Design and optimization of advanced perception architectures (object detection, multi-target tracking, segmentation)

Development and optimization of models using Computer Vision, Signal Processing and Machine Learning techniques

Collaboration with hardware and software teams for integration into complex embedded systems

Validation of perception algorithms through high-fidelity simulations and real-world testing (flight/ground tests)

Contribution to ML-Ops activities, including pipeline management and use of High Performance Computing platforms

Required technical skills:
Experience with Data Association algorithms and Multiple Object Tracking (MOT)

Proficiency in 3D point cloud processing (e.g. PCL, Open3D or similar)

In-depth knowledge of sensors (LiDAR, Radar, cameras, IMU, GPS) and their physical principles and data structures

Hands-on experience with PyTorch for perception model development

Strong programming skills in C and C++

Good knowledge of scripting languages (Python)

Optional technical skills:
Knowledge of Linux environments (e.g. Ubuntu)

Experience in handling large datasets and model versioning (MLflow, Kubeflow)

Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Singularity)

Experience with version control tools (Git)

Education:
Master’s degree in:
Robotics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering

Aerospace Engineering

Electronic Engineering

Computer Science or related fields

Soft skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams

Flexibility in interacting with internal and external stakeholders

Willingness to travel in European and non-European contexts

Problem-solving mindset and result-oriented approach

Required experience:
Middle: 3–5 years of experience

The compensation package for this role ranges from EUR 32,000 to EUR 37,000 gross per year.

Final offer details, including seniority level and contract classification, will be defined during the selection process based on the selected candidate’s background and in accordance with the Italian Metalworking Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico).
