Job description

Legal Practice Technology Principal of Review & AI Services

Role Overview

This role is designed for an accomplished eDiscovery and document review leader who is ready to influence how advanced analytics and artificial intelligence are embedded into complex litigation work. The position combines deep review expertise, legal judgment, and applied AI fluency to help modernize fact development and document review at scale.

You will work within a forward‑looking legal innovation organization, partnering directly with case teams to apply AI‑enabled workflows across active matters while helping shape longer‑term approaches to review strategy, validation, and defensibility. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys both hands‑on engagement and strategic leadership, and who thrives in high‑stakes, collaborative environments.

Your Impact

Reporting to senior Legal Practice Technology leadership, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for guiding a multidisciplinary team that includes review advisors, project managers, legal process engineers, and data science specialists. Your primary mandate is to design, implement, and continuously refine workflows that support high‑quality document review, analysis, and production across litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters.

In parallel, you will contribute to firm‑wide innovation initiatives by helping translate emerging AI capabilities into operationally sound, defensible services that enhance how attorneys develop facts and manage risk.

Key Responsibilities

Review Strategy, Analytics & AI Integration

  • Define and evolve standardized document review and validation workflows that thoughtfully incorporate AI and advanced analytics.
  • Partner with legal process and technical teams to design workflows that connect discovery review with adjacent fact‑development activities such as early investigations, deposition preparation, expert analysis, and briefing support.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and enhancements relevant to review and analytics, assessing both technical capability and practical applicability to legal service delivery.
  • Provide recommendations on adoption, testing, and implementation of new tools with a focus on defensibility, reliability, and scalability.

Client & Matter Advisory

  • Dedicate more than half of your time to direct engagement on active matters, serving as a senior, embedded advisor to case teams.
  • Develop and maintain substantive understanding of matters to provide ongoing, high‑value guidance on review strategy and workflow execution.
  • Help ensure consistent application of best practices across review execution, matter documentation, and collaboration models.
  • Support attorneys in aligning AI‑enabled review approaches with legal objectives, disclosure obligations, and risk tolerance.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability.
  • Play an active role in strengthening department‑wide expertise in analytics and GenAI‑enabled review, including driving awareness, training, and adoption.
  • Help convert individual expertise into repeatable team knowledge through documentation, standards, and shared workflows.
  • Promote continuous improvement in review delivery quality and efficiency.

What You Bring

Education & Professional Background

  • Juris Doctor required.
  • 15+ years of experience delivering consultative eDiscovery services, with extensive responsibility for complex reviews, investigations, productions, and privilege workflows across sophisticated matters.

Review, AI & Analytics Expertise

  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience designing, testing, and validating GenAI‑assisted document review workflows.
  • Practical proficiency with LLM‑based review technologies, including prompt development, iteration, and refinement.
  • Experience applying statistical validation techniques such as recall, precision, elusion, and sampling, along with producing defensible AI methodology documentation suitable for disclosure to courts, regulators, or opposing counsel.
  • Experience applying and supervising TAR and analytics workflows for deduplication, email threading, prioritization, privilege identification, sampling, and production quality control.

Litigation Lifecycle & Legal Context

  • Strong understanding of the end‑to‑end lifecycle of litigation and investigations, including how attorneys develop facts at each stage.
  • Ability to identify opportunities where structured workflows, analytics, and AI can directly support tasks such as deposition preparation, expert analysis, witness development, and brief drafting.

Applied AI & Technical Fluency

  • Working knowledge of LLM capabilities and limitations, including hallucination risk, consistency challenges, and corpus‑level versus document‑level behavior.
  • Experience implementing GenAI workflows across document summarization, privilege and PII detection, early case assessment, and complex classification tasks.
  • Practical familiarity with prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), and AI orchestration frameworks.
