Pirelli is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Computer Vision Engineer. This role is strategic for improving and optimising business operations and production processes. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the implementation of advanced artificial vision solutions, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency, quality and sustainability of Pirelli’s production activities.

YOUR CORE ACTIVITIES

Communication and dissemination of results and technological advancements to both internal and external stakeholders, to foster a shared understanding of the solutions adopted

Design and development of advanced models, with a focus on computer vision applications aimed at improving production processes

Cross-functional collaboration with various departments, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence solutions into industrial processes and finished products

In-depth analysis of complex and diverse datasets to identify opportunities for optimising quality and efficiency within the manufacturing context

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields

Fluency in English

Hands-on experience in Computer Vision applications, including object detection, image segmentation, and anomaly detection on real-world and industrial datasets

2+ years of experience in developing and optimizing d Deep Learning models, with solid understanding of neural network architectures (CNNs, Transformers) and training, validation, and hyperparameter tuning techniques

Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end solutions, from data collection and preprocessing to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production environments, thorough advanced algorhitms, ML and neural networks

Strong knowledge of MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines for Machine Learning (GitLab CI), model versioning, automated testing, and performance monitoring

WHAT PUTS YOU IN POLE POSITION

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, preferred) and scalable ML infrastructure

Knowledge of multimodal models integrating visual and non-visual data

Experience with Generative AI models and fine-tuning techniques

Experience with edge deployment or embedded systems

PhD in Computer Science or related field

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

The employment contract will be regulated by “Gomma Plastica” National Collective Bargaining Agreement

The gross annual base salary (RAL) offered will be no less than € 35.000

The Company is committed to offering a competitive compensation package and, following the selection process, may propose a final gross annual base salary above the stated level, commensurate with the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications

The position’s compensation package also includes a variable component and a competitive welfare and benefits offer. Further details will be provided at a later stage and will be subject to the applicable Company policies.
