Technical Project Manager (AI Deployments)

Deployee AI places forward-deployed engineers inside client companies to build and ship real AI solutions into their operations. As we scale the number of simultaneous deployments, we're hiring a Technical Project Manager to be the connective tissue across every engagement — keeping our engineers, timelines, and client stakeholders moving in sync.

This is a hands-on, technical coordination role for someone who understands how modern AI actually works and is relentless about detail and delivery.

What you'll do

• Own the end-to-end delivery of multiple concurrent AI deployment projects, coordinating the work of several forward-deployed engineers at once.
• Translate client needs into clear scope, milestones, and timelines — and hold every project to them.
• Serve as the primary point of coordination between engineers, client stakeholders, and internal leadership.
• Track progress, surface risks early, remove blockers, and keep everyone aligned on priorities and deadlines.
• Maintain rigorous project documentation, status reporting, and delivery standards across all engagements.
• Understand the technical work deeply enough to ask the right questions, sanity-check estimates, and make sound trade-off decisions.

What we're looking for

• Proven experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously, ideally in software, data, or AI environments.
• A working understanding of how AI and large language models (LLMs) function — you can hold a substantive technical conversation with engineers.
• AI-native: you actively use AI tools in your own workflow and are fluent and comfortable with the current AI landscape.
• Exceptional attention to detail — a near-perfectionist standard for planning, tracking, and delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Able to work in person in the New York / New Jersey metro area (strongly preferred).

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience building something on top of AI — prompts, agents, integrations, or LLM-powered applications.
• Background as an engineer, technical lead, or solutions role before moving into project management.
• Experience in a consulting, forward-deployed, or client-facing delivery environment.

• Type: Contract, with the potential to convert to a permanent role (contract-to-hire).
• Location: In person, NY / NJ area.

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
