As our Digital Innovation Engineer for our IT Team in Tucson, you'll help transform how Psomas teams work by identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation, and digital solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and consistency across the organization. In this highly collaborative role, you'll work directly with production teams to understand real-world challenges, develop practical AI-enabled tools, and drive adoption of innovative solutions that create measurable business value.

What You'll Do
As our Digital Innovation Engineer, you will partner with teams across the organization to identify opportunities, build AI-powered solutions, and drive adoption of tools that improve how work gets done.
- AI Consulting & Solution Development
Partner with production teams to identify efficiency opportunities, evaluate business challenges, and design practical AI-enabled solutions that address real operational needs. - Discovery, Piloting & Adoption
Lead projects from discovery through implementation by defining success metrics, running pilots, measuring outcomes, and helping teams successfully adopt new tools and workflows. - AI Tool Development & Automation
Build, deploy, and maintain production-ready AI solutions including LLM-based applications, RAG pipelines, autonomous agents, and workflow automations that support engineering and business operations. - Systems Integration & Data Enablement
Integrate platforms such as Egnyte, Unanet, Microsoft 365, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and other business systems through APIs to unlock data and improve operational efficiency. - Engineering QA/QC & Workflow Innovation
Develop automation tools that support engineering quality, consistency, and compliance by embedding calculations, standards, review processes, and engineering judgment into repeatable workflows. - Knowledge Sharing & Process Standardization
Document solutions, develop reusable tools and playbooks, mentor staff on AI adoption, and help establish best practices that scale successful innovations across the organization. - Technical Leadership
Provide technical leadership for AI and engineering innovation initiatives while helping establish development standards, mentoring team members, and guiding strategic technology decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10+ years of experience in an AEC environment in a CAD, BIM, design technology, engineering, or technical delivery role
- Demonstrated experience developing automation solutions using Python and working with APIs, SDKs, or system integrations
- Hands-on experience with AI technologies including ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable large language model platforms
- Experience building and deploying AI-enabled solutions such as RAG pipelines, autonomous agents, MCP integrations, or related technologies
- Strong consultative, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into practical solutions
- Experience leading projects from concept through implementation with strong planning, communication, and delivery skills
- Ability to mentor users, drive adoption, and create solutions that achieve measurable business impact
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or significant engineering production experience is a plus
