LEAD COMPUTER VISION ENGINEER
We're looking for a computer vision engineer with a computer-science based skill set who is excited to join Veebot at an early stage and take on a lot of responsibility. The position focuses on using medical imaging modalities to automate blood vessel identification and localization. This involves technical challenges in the areas of optics, real-time image processing, depth sensing, SLAM, sensor fusion, 3D reconstruction and target tracking. We're looking for candidates who share a passion for exploring and solving complex problems at the intersection of medical imaging and computer vision. Position based out of Miami, Florida. RESPONSIBILITIES* Lead all computer-vision efforts at Veebot
- Explore and identify best medical imaging modalities to identify blood vessels
- Develop novel, accurate computer vision algorithms with a focus on image processing, real-time object tracking, SLAM, sensor fusion, camera calibration and 3D reconstruction
- Research, develop and prototype advanced hardware and software technologies related to blood vessel identification, tracking, movement detection, and 3D reconstruction
- Apply machine learning to improve and continuously improve blood vessel identification
- Analyze and improve speed, efficiency, scalability and stability of various deployed systems
- Collaborate with team members to integrate subsystems
- Report to CEO on progress
KEY QUALIFICATIONS* Currently has or is in the process of obtaining Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics or related technical field from top university
- Self-starter
- Expert-level programming skills, with experience in C++
- 1+ years' experience developing real-time computer vision software in C++, including algorithm design and systems software development
- Experience with applying machine learning, neural networks and/or Bayesian filters to complex, real-life problems
- Strong grasp of 3D geometry
- Understanding of applied mathematics and numerical optimization
- Prototyping skills
- Assist with writing patent applications as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* 3+ years' experience with real-time image processing, object tracking, SLAM, sensor fusion, real-time image processing, etc.
- Extensive OpenCV experience
- Background in medical imaging
- Experience working with robots
- Experience training deep convolutional and/or recurrent neural networks
- Experience with CPU/GPU optimization
- Proven publication track record at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, CVPR, NIPS, ECCV, ICCV, ISMAR, ICML, etc
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS* Occasional travel will be required
