Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Drive the enterprise execution for agentic AI — the patterns, platforms, and intelligence that power the next generation of AI-enabled experiences. As Senior Director, you will lead the operationalization of agentic architectures, build the tooling ecosystem that enables AI teams to move from prototype to production with confidence, and establish the analytics foundation that turns AI activity into measurable business outcomes.

Reporting to the Vice President, AI, Architecture, Tools & Innovation, you will partner across lines of business and technology to ensure that agentic capabilities are developed systematically, deployed responsibly, and continuously measured for impact. This role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge AI engineering, developer enablement, and data-driven accountability — making it central to the enterprise AI agenda.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Agentic Patterns & Architecture

• Lead the evaluation and adoption of LLM deployment patterns suited to enterprise scale, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), function calling, structured output, and autonomous agent loops.
• Build and maintain a reference architecture library that enables teams to implement agentic solutions consistently, safely, and at speed across business domains.
• Partner with AI risk, security, and compliance teams to embed guardrails, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and audit trails into agentic system designs.

Tools & Developer Enablement

• Oversee the strategy and roadmap for the enterprise AI tooling ecosystem — spanning development frameworks, prompt engineering utilities, and agent debugging infrastructure.
• Lead cross-functional teams to build and operate shared tooling that accelerates AI development cycles, reduces duplication across squads, and enforces quality and governance standards.
• Drive adoption of the enterprise AI asset catalog and registry, ensuring tools, agents, and reusable components are discoverable, versioned, and production-ready.
• Establish technical standards, code review processes, and quality gates that apply across the full product development lifecycle — from experimentation through deployment and monitoring.

Analytics & AI Performance Measurement

• Build the analytics layer that surfaces how AI systems are performing across the enterprise — including agent behavior analytics, usage telemetry, cost attribution, and business outcome tracking.
• Define and operationalize KPIs and success metrics for AI initiatives, enabling executive stakeholders to understand return on AI investment across business units.
• Implement lineage, observability, and dependency management practices that give teams real-time visibility into model performance, data provenance, and agent decision quality.
• Present quarterly performance reviews and strategic roadmap updates to executive leadership, translating technical metrics into business-relevant insights and recommendations.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead and develop high-performing cross-functional teams, setting clear expectations, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and coaching talent toward senior engineering and architecture roles.
• Build trusted partnerships with business unit leaders to identify where agentic AI creates the most value, align on priorities, and drive meaningful adoption of shared capabilities.
• Champion a reuse-first mindset across AI teams — articulating the compounding returns of shared infrastructure and influencing teams to contribute to and consume from common platforms.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have

• 10+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML, enterprise architecture, or technology strategy, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role.
• Demonstrated expertise in agentic AI system design — including LLM orchestration frameworks, tool-use patterns, autonomous agent architectures, and evaluation methodologies.
• Strong command of MLOps practices, AI development lifecycles, and enterprise AI governance, with the technical credibility to engage deeply with engineering teams.
• Proven track record building developer tooling, shared AI platforms, or capability frameworks that achieved measurable adoption across large, complex organizations.
• Experience establishing and presenting analytics and measurement frameworks to executive stakeholders, translating AI activity into business impact.
• Collaborative leadership style with demonstrated ability to influence across business and technology functions without direct authority.

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial services or a similarly complex, regulated enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with enterprise asset and knowledge management — metadata standards, cataloging, versioning, and dependency management at scale.
• Fluency in change management and a track record of driving adoption of new platforms and ways of working across large organizations.
• Hands-on exposure to open-source and commercial agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent.
• Experience with AI observability tooling, prompt management systems, or AI evaluation platforms in production environments.
