Senior AI Product Manager — Travel Tech Barcelona, Spain · Full-time · On-site

At SMYT, we are partnering with a fast-growing AI travel-tech company backed by leading industry investors to find a Senior Product Manager ready to own a product that is genuinely reshaping how the industry operates. This is not a traditional PM role.

Our client is at the forefront of AI-powered travel operations, reshaping how the industry handles complexity at scale, with real traction, real customers, and a product already in production at some of the world's leading travel companies.

We are looking for a travel industry veteran who understands how airline distribution actually works, knows their way around a GDS, and wants to apply that expertise where the underlying AI is moving faster than any roadmap.

What will you do?

You will own the core AI product end-to-end — from discovery and prioritisation to delivery:

• Lead the full post-booking servicing scope: exchanges, refunds, cancellations, IRROPS, and traveller comms
• Translate customer calls and operational workflows into PRDs the engineering team can build with conviction
• Shape how agentic systems handle ambiguity — escalation logic, quality evaluation, product evolution
• Drive alignment through clear written communication: PRDs, decision memos, API specs
• Partner daily with Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to deliver outcomes, not outputs
• Help build the product playbook future hires will use — you are early enough that it is still being written

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years as a PM in B2B SaaS with a track record of shipping end-to-end
• Hands-on experience in travel tech or airline distribution — PNRs, fare rules, exchange and refund logic. This is a requirement, not a preference
• Deep GDS fluency (Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport) — NDC vs. EDIFACT, schedule change, IRROPS. No translator needed
• Technical range: API specs, backend conversations, translating constraints into trade-offs
• Strong written communication — PRDs, decision memos, release notes, all with equal precision
• Native-like English. Spanish is a plus

What will most be valued?

• Depth of hands-on GDS experience across multiple airline casuistics — schedule changes, IRROPS, complex fare rules in practice
• Familiarity with PSS systems (Altea, Navitaire, Nevio)
• Experience with LLMs or AI/ML product components
