Duties

• Develop and implement AI-driven automation workflows tailored for makerspace environments using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Go.
• Design and manage scalable cloud infrastructure utilizing platforms like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, and Rackspace to support automation solutions.
• Integrate various web services and APIs to enable seamless communication between IoT devices, sensors, and control systems within the makerspace ecosystem.
• Utilize containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes to deploy reliable microservices architectures supporting automation tasks.
• Collaborate with software development teams applying Agile methodologies to ensure continuous improvement through SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) best practices.
• Implement system hardening and security measures including VPNs, system updates, and access controls to safeguard cloud infrastructure and IoT devices.
• Automate deployment processes using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, and PowerShell scripts for efficient updates and maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in developing automation solutions within cloud computing environments such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components including virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), operating systems (Linux, Windows), and network security protocols.
• Hands-on expertise with cloud architecture concepts like SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Ruby, or Shell Scripting for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying scalable applications.
• Experience working with APIs (RESTful API), web services, NoSQL databases (MongoDB), SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and data management systems like Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Git for streamlined software deployment.
• Strong understanding of system security principles including system hardening techniques and secure network configurations.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
