Job description
IT Data & AI Systems Architect
Seiko Watch of America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Seiko Group Corporation, established in 1881. As one of the few true manufacturers that design, develop, and produce all components of watches, including the hairspring of its mechanical movements, the company offers collections available worldwide that incorporate traditional Japanese design with the finest watchmaking technology across the Seiko, Grand Seiko, and Credor brands.
We are seeking an IT Data & AI Systems Architect to support and evolve Seiko’s enterprise technology environment. This role is purpose-built for a technically strong professional who bridges traditional IT infrastructure with modern data practices and artificial intelligence — someone who not only keeps systems running but actively identifies opportunities where data insights and AI-driven automation can improve how Seiko operates.
This position partners closely with Finance, Operations, Warehouse, and IT leadership to support critical infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, and lead modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL and data skills alongside hands-on familiarity with AI tools, automation frameworks, API integrations, and intelligent workflow solutions — and has the curiosity and communication skills to translate those capabilities into practical business value.
ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Systems Support
- Serve as an escalation point for enterprise IT support across corporate, warehouse, retail, and operational environments.
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, VPN, and endpoint technologies.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, MFA/2FA, group policies, and endpoint security configurations.
- Support Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, backup systems, disaster recovery processes, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
Networking & Security
- Troubleshoot networking infrastructure including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless, VPN, switching, and routing.
- Support firewall administration including policy management, access controls, VPN configuration, and security monitoring; experience with Check Point firewall technologies preferred.
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, phishing remediation, vulnerability management, and identity management.
Data & Analytics
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support operational reporting, financial analysis, and data validation.
- Support Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments, including imports, exports, backups, and performance troubleshooting.
- Develop lightweight internal tools and data utilities using JavaScript and Visual Studio to support business workflows and data access needs.
- Design, build, and maintain API integrations and connectors that enable data to flow reliably between enterprise systems such as ERP, WMS, and third-party platforms.
AI & Automation
- Proactively identify opportunities where AI tools, automation, or intelligent workflows can reduce manual effort and improve operations.
- Prototype and support AI-driven solutions including workflow automation, AI agents, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate and implement tools that apply AI to real operational challenges such as inventory forecasting, order processing, and financial reporting.
- Stay current on emerging AI and automation technologies and translate their potential into actionable proposals for leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on IT infrastructure, systems administration, or advanced technical support experience.
- Strong SQL skills — able to write complex queries, optimize for performance, and troubleshoot data issues independently.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and experience working within Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code for scripting, tooling, or lightweight application development.
- Solid understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP), connectors, and integration patterns; experience building or maintaining integrations between enterprise systems preferred.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Windows enterprise environments, Active Directory, and endpoint management; solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, and routing/switching concepts.
- Experience with cybersecurity practices including firewall administration, endpoint protection, MFA/2FA, and vulnerability remediation.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools, automation platforms, or intelligent workflow solutions (e.g., MCP, AI agents, RPA, or similar).
- Strong analytical thinking and communication skills; able to identify where technology can solve real business problems and present those ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
