Job Title: Technical Manager AI & Automation
Location: Hybrid, Deerfield
Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead the development and deployment of AI and automation solutions. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, experience in healthcare and manufacturing, and a passion for building intelligent systems that streamline operations and deliver measurable impact. This role involves both hands-on development and leading a high-performing, geographically distributed team.
Key Responsibilities:
AI & Automation Development: Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models and automation workflows; develop solutions using Power Automate and Power Apps; prototype automation tools for manufacturing, quality control, and compliance; create intelligent AI Agents using low-code platforms.
Process Optimization: Analyze and re-engineer business processes; identify automation opportunities across R&D, supply chain, and clinical operations; integrate automation solutions with ERP, MES, and QMS systems.
AI Governance & Strategy: Establish AI governance frameworks; define policies, standards, and monitoring mechanisms for AI initiatives; ensure ethical, compliant, and secure AI deployment.
Technical Leadership: Lead by example through hands-on development; conduct code reviews; define design standards and best practices; mentor junior engineers and ensure continuous upskilling.
Architecture & Infrastructure: Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to implement scalable, secure AI/automation infrastructure; evaluate emerging technologies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing teams; translate business requirements into technical solutions; present technical insights to stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Power Automate expertise, strong Python programming skills, AI/ML frameworks.
Tools & Software: Project management with Jira and MS Project; data visualization and analysis using Power BI.
Certifications: Power Automate RPA Developer Associate; Azure AI Engineer Associate or AWS ML Specialty; AI Governance Professional (AIGP).
Industry Experience: Extensive experience in healthcare and manufacturing with knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Professional Experience: 10+ years in AI and automation; proven track record of leading small to mid-size teams and delivering projects successfully.
Education: Master's in Automation & AI, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Migrate 40+ automations to Power Automate within the Vantive environment.
Build and sustain a fully operational automation team.
Deliver 4+ cost-saving automation solutions with measurable financial impact.
Complete all automation projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
