Your impact

The Senior Portfolio Manager – AI, Digital & Technical Excellence is responsible for managing the portfolio of AI tools and initiatives across Jacobs. The role owns portfolio planning, budget oversight, roadmap management, governance, and prioritization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maximizing business value. Working across multiple teams and stakeholders, the Portfolio Manager identifies dependencies, manages risks, eliminates overlaps, and drives effective investment decisions to ensure successful delivery of transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage the integrated portfolio of AI initiatives across the organization.

Establish and maintain a consolidated roadmap of all AI products ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives, available resources, and investment priorities.

Lead portfolio planning processes, including prioritization, sequencing, dependency management, and capacity planning across multiple teams and programs.

Develop, manage, and monitor portfolio budgets, ensuring effective allocation of funding and maximizing return on investment.

Provide financial oversight of projects and programs, including forecasting, budget tracking, benefits realization, and reporting.

Establish governance frameworks, delivery standards, and portfolio management practices to ensure consistent execution across all initiatives.

Identify overlaps, duplication of effort, and competing priorities across projects and programs, driving consolidation and alignment where appropriate.

Coordinate planning activities across Digital & Data, Global Technical Excellence, IT, Operations, and Business teams to ensure a unified delivery approach.

Monitor portfolio performance through defined KPIs, milestones, financial metrics, and business outcomes.

Prepare executive-level reporting and portfolio reviews for senior leadership, providing transparency on progress, risks, investments, and value delivery.

Facilitate strategic decision-making by providing data-driven recommendations regarding priorities, funding, resource allocation, and delivery approaches.

Identify, manage, and escalate portfolio-level risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints.

Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful execution of initiatives that span multiple business units, regions, and technical disciplines.

Support the development and maintenance of multi-year AI roadmaps for Digital, and Technical Excellence.

Ensure initiatives are aligned with enterprise architecture, technology strategies, governance requirements, and organizational objectives.

Act as the primary coordination point between initiative owners, project managers, technical leads, and executive stakeholders.

Promote portfolio management best practices and foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Here's what you'll need

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

Significant experience in Portfolio Management, Program Management, PMO leadership, or strategic transformation roles.

Proven experience managing complex portfolios consisting of digital, technology, AI, data, or business transformation initiatives.

Strong understanding of portfolio governance, investment management, budgeting, and benefits realization.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and complex resource allocation processes.

Experience developing and managing strategic roadmaps across multiple business functions.

Strong understanding of Agile, Lean, and traditional project delivery methodologies.

Ability to identify strategic dependencies, overlaps, and optimization opportunities across programs and projects.

Experience working with senior executives and influencing decisions at leadership level.

Strong financial acumen with experience in business case evaluation, investment prioritization, and cost-benefit analysis.

Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and facilitation skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong presentation and executive storytelling capabilities.

Fluent in English.

Experience working in global, matrixed organizations.

Knowledge of AI, Data, Digital Transformation, and emerging technologies is highly desirable.

Willingness and ability to travel as required.
