AI Solution Architecture and Pre‑Sales Enablement - Director

About the role

This is a senior leadership role within a central technology enablement team, responsible for shaping how AI solutions are designed at the earliest stages of strategic opportunities.

As a Director, you will lead a team of senior architects supporting business leaders by providing deep technical expertise, architectural rigour and scalable solution design. You will ensure that complex business requirements are translated into robust, delivery-ready AI architectures.

A key focus of this role is enabling high-quality solutions from the outset—reducing rework, avoiding bespoke designs, and increasing the reuse of proven assets and patterns. You will play a critical role in ensuring that early-stage AI solutions are grounded in delivery reality, with security, scalability and long-term value embedded from day one.

What you'll do:

• Leading and developing a high-performing team of senior AI solution architects
• Shaping AI solutions at early stages to ensure they are scalable, secure and aligned to delivery capability
• Defining and embedding standard architecture patterns and reusable solution designs
• Driving reuse of accelerators, prototypes and proven solution components
• Acting as the senior technical authority in complex client and internal discussions
• Improving the quality, consistency and robustness of solution design and proposals
• Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure alignment between design and implementation
• Engaging with senior stakeholders to challenge assumptions and guide technical decision-making

This role is for you if you have:

• Proven experience leading solution architecture or technical pre-sales teams
• Strong background in designing enterprise-scale AI and data-driven solutions
• Demonstrated experience translating early-stage concepts into scalable technical architectures
• Ability to balance commercial urgency with sound architectural governance
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels without direct authority
• Confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience defining, implementing and enforcing architecture standards and best practices
• Strong collaboration skills across business, architecture and engineering teams
