Low-Power Edge-AI on FPGA for Real-World Scenarios

L’Edge-AI rappresenta una rivoluzione fondamentale nel machine learning, che trasporta l’intelligenza dai datacenter fino all’edge, dove vivono i dati.

All’edge, potenza ed energia sono limitate e molte piattaforme non possono permettersi i consumi di potenti GPU per eseguire modelli deep. Le piattaforme FPGA offrono un vantaggio strategico in termini di consumi energetici per dispiegare modelli compressi e personalizzati all’edge.

Questa tesi esplorerà i trade-off e i vantaggi della progettazione e deployment di modelli Edge-AI su piattaforme attrezzate con FPGA.

Edge-AI is a fundamental revolution in machine learning, binging intelligence from the datacenters to the edge, where the data lives.

On the edge, power and energy are limited and many platforms cannot afford the power toll of powerful GPUs to run deep models. FPGA platforms offer strategic advantages in power and energy consumption to deploy compressed and edge-tailored models.

This thesis will explore the tradeoffs and advantages of designing and deploy Edge-AI models on FPGA-enabled platforms.
