We are looking for a talented Software Engineer who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and wants to build software that directly controls sophisticated laboratory equipment.
As we continue to grow, we are transforming our development process by integrating modern AI tools into everyday engineering. We are looking for someone who is excited to leverage AI to write better software faster while maintaining high engineering standards.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop software for scientific instruments
- Build Windows desktop applications using C# and .NET
- Develop automation, analysis, and testing tools in Python
- Hands on work on our products to test features
- Interface software with cameras, motion systems, sensors, lasers, DAQ hardware, and measurement electronics
- Develop algorithms for data acquisition, signal processing, visualization, and scientific analysis
- Improve software architecture, reliability, and maintainability
- Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and applications engineers
- Use AI-assisted development tools (such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate software development
- Evaluate new AI workflows to improve engineering productivity
- Participate in software testing, debugging, and product releases
Required Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering
- Strong programming experience in C#
- Experience with Python
- Understanding of object-oriented software design
- Experience developing Windows desktop applications
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following:
- Scientific or engineering software
- Instrument control software
- Motion control systems
- Serial communication (USB, RS-232, Ethernet, CAN, etc.)
- Data acquisition hardware
- Image processing
- Computer vision
- Signal processing
- Machine learning
- AI-assisted software development
- WPF or WinForms
- SQL databases
- Git version control
Pay: $91,526.47 - $110,225.42 per year
