Student Research Assistant - Data Science (Dr Soto)

Description

The research assistant will work under the supervision of Dr. Soto-Shoender on a research project he is currently conducting.

Examples of Duties

• Develop and test the cloud infrastructure to store and process videos and audio recordings obtained from camera traps and passive acoustic monitors
• Train the AI algorithm for automatic species and sound identification, along with additional functionalities such as data summaries per site and species, and construction of basic plots for reports
• Develop a set of training modules for park rangers and researchers to learn how to upload camera trap videos and audio recordings to obtain relevant outputs
• Develop a proof-of-concept evaluation of the WiFi Channel State Information System in a real-world, controlled setting
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Familiar with research in Natural Sciences
• NCF current student
