Job description
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- 5 years of experience leading ML design and optimizing ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
- 2 years of experience with state of the art GenAI techniques (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with GenAI-related concepts (language modeling, computer vision).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience in developing and scaling developer-facing tools and platforms. Demonstrated success in architecting and building agentic solutions suitable for large, complex ecosystems like Google Search.

The Search AI Developer Platform team in Search Platforms is tasked with 10X'ing search developer velocity leveraging agentic development.
In this role, you will improve product velocity for AI Overviews and AI Mode, while at the same time reimagining every aspect of how developers land that impact.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of robust, scalable agentic solutions, including core components, tools, and libraries, to power and advance our APO platform, driving significant enhancements in model performance, efficiency, and quality.
- Address key challenges in human-AI collaboration, ensuring agents seamlessly integrate into and enhance existing developer workflows.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators for owned components, proposing data-driven iterations to improve launch velocity and reduce developer friction.
- Promote best practices in AI-assisted software development within the team and share knowledge of agentic techniques.
- Own the end-to-end integration of tools and skills, collaborating deeply with other teams to ensure seamless accessibility within the broader Google ecosystem, while navigating ambiguity and aligning stakeholders to achieve project goals.
