Responsibilities

The Agentic Platform team is the force-multiplier for TikTok USDS JV's Infrastructure and Platform teams. We are building and deploying a highly advanced, autonomous layer of AI agents that act as "virtual team members" for SRE, Systems, Capacity, Networking and operational roles. Our agents don't just alert—they observe signals, diagnose root causes, execute complex machine remediations, and safely report outcomes to humans and core cloud infrastructure. Operating under the principle that "agents own the toil, humans own the judgment," we are a 0 to 1 engineering team tackling massive infrastructure challenges. Over the next 6 months, our mission is to eliminate over 50% of manual ticket-handling effort across USDS and measurably optimize critical machine infrastructure (GPU, HDFS) and Disaster Recovery (DR) readiness metrics. We are looking for a battle-tested Senior Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of infrastructure systems engineering and autonomous software. In this role, you will architect the core agent runtime platform, design deterministic self-healing loops, and lead the technical execution of our aggressive automation roadmap. Responsibilities - Platform Architecture: Architect and build a production-grade, highly secure Agentic Platform, including a shared runtime environment, multi-system tool registry, audit logs, and human-in-the-loop (HITL) review interfaces. - Autonomous Remediation Systems: Apply the Agentic Platform to scale diagnostic playbooks and enable intelligent triage, isolation, and auto-healing of complex hardware and system faults (e.g., FS read-only, disk, RDMA, and network interface cards). - Distributed Systems Integration: Build resilient, concurrent integrations between our autonomous agent layer and core infrastructure systems (e.g., telemetry signals, cluster orchestrators, provisioning pipelines, and ticketing infrastructure). - Technical Leadership & Execution: Act as the tech lead for a high-impact engineering team. Drive design reviews, establish rigorous engineering standards, manage technical debt, and ensure the team hits aggressive roadmap milestones (e.g., scaling self-healing to > 50 PSMs). - Guardrails & Compliance: Implement ironclad policy guardrails into the agent runtime framework to ensure all automated actions strictly adhere to data boundaries, legal compliance, and safety review constraints.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s): - BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of professional industry experience. - Exceptional programming skills with deep proficiency in Python, Go, or Node.JS paired with a strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. - Proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining large-scale automation frameworks, control loops, or infrastructure-as-code tooling in production environments. Preferred Qualification(s): - Agentic AI & Orchestration: Direct experience building or working with LLM orchestration frameworks, custom agent runtimes, tool-calling paradigms, or stateful workflow engines. - Infrastructure Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of SRE practices, large-scale distributed storage (HDFS/Object Storage), and high-performance compute clusters (GPU architecture like A10, L40S, B300, B40). - Fault Domains & Networks: Solid knowledge of Linux internals, hardware diagnostics, and high-performance networking protocols (RDMA, InfiniBand, RoCE).

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $359720 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
