We are currently looking for a candidate for the Image Analysis Engineer position for a client from the biotechnology/medical industry based in Warsaw.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement image analysis pipelines for PCR instrument outputs, including preprocessing, segmentation, feature extraction, and classification;
• Apply classical computer vision techniques (e.g., thresholding, edge detection, morphological operations) for rapid prototyping and baseline performance;
• Develop and train machine learning models (e.g., CNNs, decision trees) for more complex image interpretation tasks;
• Collaborate with assay scientists to understand experimental context and define image-based performance metrics;
• Integrate image analysis modules into existing data pipelines and cloud infrastructure;
• Validate and benchmark image analysis algorithms using annotated datasets and real-world test bench data;
• Contribute to the development of visualization tools and dashboards for image-based results;
• Provide feedback on data formats and metadata requirements to improve image data ingestion and usability.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Python and image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, scikit-image, PIL);
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn;
• Solid understanding of classical image processing techniques and their applications;
• Experience with training and evaluating ML models on image datasets;
• Familiarity with cloud-based data workflows (e.g., AWS, S3, Lambda) is a plus;
• Ability to work with multimodal data and integrate image analysis with other data types (e.g., CSV, JSON, text);
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams;
• Experience in diagnostics, medical imaging, or laboratory instrumentation is a strong plus.
