Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and innovative researcher to join our team as an Autonomous UAV Algorithms Specialist. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge perception, programming, and navigation algorithms for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). You will leverage your expertise in SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), path planning, and machine learning to advance autonomous flight capabilities. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in computer science, robotics, or a related field and have a proven track record of publishing impactful white papers. Your work will directly contribute to pioneering research and practical applications in autonomous drone technology, pushing the boundaries of AI-driven perception and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize algorithms for UAV perception, navigation, and control systems using advanced computer vision techniques.
- Develop robust SLAM solutions that enable UAVs to accurately map environments in real-time under diverse conditions.
- Create efficient path planning strategies that ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient autonomous flight operations.
- Integrate machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other AI tools to enhance perception accuracy and decision-making processes.
- Conduct research on unsupervised learning methods, natural language processing, and signal processing to improve UAV autonomy.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop prototypes, test algorithms in simulated environments (e.g., MATLAB, Linux), and validate performance in real-world scenarios.
- Author detailed white papers documenting research findings, algorithm innovations, and technological advancements for publication in top-tier conferences and journals.
Qualifications
- PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering or a related field with a focus on AI or machine learning.
- Extensive experience with algorithm design for robotics or UAV systems involving perception, SLAM, path planning, or related areas.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, C#, R, MATLAB, and C; experience with Linux-based development environments.
- Strong background in computer vision techniques including object detection, tracking, sensor fusion, and signal processing.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch; familiarity with unsupervised learning approaches.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS for large-scale data processing and model training.
- Demonstrated ability to publish impactful white papers; excellent research skills with a focus on innovation.
- Familiarity with software development best practices within robotics or autonomous systems domains; understanding of SQL for data management is a plus. Join us to be at the forefront of autonomous UAV technology!
