Open position: Data Scientist – Intermediate Level (Development Focus)

Location : Rome / Hybrid / Remote Contract : Permanent (Metalworking National Collective Bargaining Agreement) Seniority : Intermediate (2-5 years of experience)

Role Description

Key2 is seeking an intermediate data scientist for an ICT project with a strong focus on software development , data pipeline management , and predictive model integration in production environments. The candidate will work closely with the development and data engineering team to create scalable data-driven solutions.

• ️ Main activities

• ️Develop and expose machine learning models within microservices or applications
• ️Build data processing pipelines in cloud and on-premise environments
• ️Work with large volumes of data (batch and streaming)
• ️Collaborate on the production of end-to-end AI solutions
• ️Monitor and maintain models and pipelines with automation logic

Technical skills required

• ️Excellent command of Python , with a focus on ML/AI libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow, pytorch, FastAPI)
• ️Experience in developing RESTful APIs for exposing models
• ️Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling
• ️Experience with Docker , virtualized environments, and versioning tools (Git)
• ️Ability to work with Linux environments and shell scripting

➕ Nice to have

• ️Experience with MLOps framework

Familiarity with cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)

• ️Experience with data warehouses and distributed systems
• ️Basic knowledge of CI/CD and deployment in containerized environments
• ️Experience integrating with external systems (messaging, NoSQL databases, external APIs)

Soft skills

• ️Autonomy in the development and technical management of projects
• ️Ability to collaborate with software development teams
• ️Production-oriented mindset, scalability and maintenance
• ️Ability to propose practical, robust and safe solutions
